A 39-year-old serial dater reportedly took dating to the next level after he allegedly dated over 35 women at the same time as a strategy to receive birthday gifts.
Takashi Miyagawa was arrested by the police on Thursday after he was caught dating 35 girlfriends to get the ‘expensive’ birthday gifts throughout the year.
The accused, a salesman by profession, is alleged to have wooed the women into a relationship on false pretense of marriage and disclosed wrong birth dates to receive luxurious gift items.
The Japanese international was apparently caught out when the women joined forces to create a victims’ association after discovering his extensive infidelity and reported him to the police in February.
It is alleged that Migawa gave each woman a different date for his birthday to ensure that he would constantly receive birthday gifts all year round.
One 47-year-old woman reportedly thought his birthday was on February 22, another aged 40 was told it was July, while another 35-year-old believed his birthday was in April.
According to Yahoo News, Miyagawa allegedly received a total of around 100 000 yen (£668) worth of gifts from the women, including a £200 suit. He reportedly met at least 35 of his victims through his job at a marketing company, which sells shower products.
Photographs published by the publication show Miyagawa with several different women at restaurants and at a park. In one image two small cakes can be seen with the message “Happy Birthday”.
