A Bulawayo man who last year discovered three used condoms in his wife’s car is now crying foul accusing his wife of locking him out of the house and threatening to kill him.
Hardlife Ndlovu who had been married to Amanda Moyo for just over a year, made the unpleasant discovery last year when he was looking for some documents in his wife’s car. However, despite the unpalatable discovery, Hardlife chose to stay with his wife so that they could work things through.
Unfortunately for him, it seems that all the effort has been one-sided. Hardlife claims that Amanda has never shown contrition for stepping out on him. Instead, she has been abusing him. According to Hardlife, Amanda regularly insults him, threatens him with death and even locks him out of the house when she goes to work.
Amanda is a money changer who operates near Tredgold Court. Hardlife also claimed that his wife sometimes returns home late and intoxicated, despite knowing that she would have left him locked out of the house.
Things got so bad for Hardlife that he approached the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court Civil Division where he applied for a protection order against his alleged unruly wife. Local publication B-Metro reports that in his court papers, Hardlife alleged that Amanda was abusing him.
“I’m having problems with my wife Amanda Moyo. She locks me outside the house. And I sleep outside the house.
“When I knock at the door, she insults me and threatens to kill me.”
“She comes home in the early hours of the morning very drunk. When I ask her where she would’ve been, she gets angry, insults me and threatens to kill me,”
Surprisingly, despite making the application for the protection order Hardlife did not pursue the matter and it was struck off the court roll. In an ironic development, his wife Amanda has now filed a protection order of her own against him.
